The Experience

The Adventure Begins

We approach our photoshoots as fun adventures. We love creating new ideas and documenting families beautiful moments. We are very organized, but when you step on session with us, our main aim is that you feel so at ease that you are just yourself and we get to guide you and the kids get to play.

How long is a family session?

Most family sessions last approximately an hour unless they are mini sessions. 30 - 45 minute mini sessions are generally reserved for certain times of the year when we offer offer limited mini sessions. Click here to learn the difference between a mini session and a regular session.

Whichever one you end up on, you may find yourself wondering what exactly it is that you are going to end up doing with us on our photo session? You can think of a family session as good family time spent together or ‘a walk in the park’ with a photographer stopping you every now and then to arrange a beautiful portrait, or a photographer running after your toddlers. These make the best images as our documentary skills come in handy.

What pictures do we take?

Children can become impatient so we have a formula. We get the family portrait done first when attentions are high and looking at the camera is more likely. We also come prepared with some tricks for getting the kids to look at the camera naturally, that don’t include candy , but feel free to bring food bribes.

We then move to do a sequence of images. All our sessions are pre-planned and we know our locations well and visit them often to see how they environmentally change. We will photograph the family, the extended family, kids together, kids separately, parents, mom with kids, dad with kids, grandparents, grand parents with kids etc. so that you have a full gallery to choose your final portraits from.

What is our approach?

We have a documentary photography background so we approach each session as a structured adventure. We are planned and intentional but not rigid. We know what we are looking for but if we see something amazing on the way we will follow through with new ideas. We will talk you into a pose rather than simply pose you. We are after a natural look and feeling.

How many pictures do we take?

This can really depend. With young children we tend to take more shots as we are photographing them in action. You will have at least 25 or more beautiful images to select your favorites.

Can we choose our own pictures?

Absolutely. You can select these from your private online gallery made available to you.

What if I want more images than what’s in my package?

Additional images are available for purchase in your gallery or email us your request and we will take care of it for you.
